This Web site intends to serve as a means of communication for all of the Bleickens out there. I sincerely hope every one of you will contribute to this project. My part is to collect information about you and your families. Please send in your address (phone number, E-Mail address), pictures, scanned family documents, and anything else, which might be of interest to all of us. I will immediately publish your material on this Web site. These pages have been protected with a password to prevent unauthorized persons from abusing your addresses and personal data. According to our family history, all of us originally came from the island SYLT in the North Sea along the shore of Schleswig-Holstein. Starting from there, the men who carried our name sailed their ships across the seven seas as merchants or whalers. As recently as the 19th century, some of the Bleickens finally moved from the island to the continent. It is quite easy to keep track of the spreading of our name during the first centuries. Nowadays, several Bleickens live all over the world, from the Far East to America. This Website intends to bring us closer together again.

I can imagine that new contacts on a private and economic base will come into existence due to our family's common bond. Wouldn't it be beautiful for our children to benefit from existing family roots for vacations or their professional careers?
